I work on statistical algorithms for Pacific Biosciences. My continuing research interests are in statistical and population genetics, computational and mathematical statistics, and high-performance scientific computing. My background is in computer science and engineering.

I am a graduate student in the Bioinformatics program at UCLA, where I am coadvised by John Novembre and Kirk Lohmueller. My current research interests are related to understanding how natural selection affects levels of genetic variation.

I am currently a PhD student in evolutionary biology advised by Matthew Stephens. Evolutionary biology is concerned with studying how life came to be and it has personally affected how I look at the world.
